Save Nigerian Christians (SNC) Welcomes High-Level US & UN Spotlight; Condemns Fresh Abduction of 25 Schoolgirls in Kebbi
ABUJA, NIGERIA – November 19, 2025 – Save Nigerian Christians (SNC), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to defending persecuted Christians, today welcomes the unprecedented attention brought to the Nigerian crisis by the US Mission to the United Nations. However, we simultaneously sound the alarm on a fresh atrocity: the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State just 48 hours ago.
Global Acknowledgement of Genocide SNC applauds the historic event hosted yesterday, November 18, 2025, by the US Mission to the UN, where US Ambassador Mike Waltz and cultural advocates publicly acknowledged the “blood that still cries from Nigerian soil”. We stand in agreement with the assessments shared at this event that the violence against Christians in Nigeria has reached the level of a systematic campaign. This high-level recognition validates SNC’s long-standing position that Nigeria is currently the “deadliest country for Christians globally”.
New Attacks: The Crisis Continues. While diplomats speak in New York, the slaughter continues in Nigeria. SNC confirms the following atrocities occurring in the last week alone:
Statement from the Secretariat:
“We are grateful the world is finally watching, but watching is not enough. While the UN discusses definitions, our children are being marched into forests in Kebbi. We demand that the Nigerian government and international community move beyond ‘concern’ to active intervention. The time for lawful, necessary, and proportionate defence of our people is now.”
About Save Nigerian Christians: SNC is a registered Non-profit organisation (Part F, CAMA 2020) committed to protecting Nigerian Christians from genocide through legal advocacy, relief, and civil defence.

TO: H.E. Mark Walker, Ambassador-Designate at Large for International Religious Freedom (USA) Dr Nazila Ghanea, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief

DATE: November 19, 2025
SUBJECT: URGENT INTERVENTION REQUIRED – Kebbi Abductions and the “Later Stages of Genocide”
Your Excellencies,
We write to you as Save Nigerian Christians (SNC), a body incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to defend the fundamental rights of Christians facing existential threats.
We welcome the recent designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” by the US Administration and the attention raised at the November 18 UN event. However, the situation on the ground is deteriorating faster than diplomatic protocols can address.
The Current Emergency: On Monday, November 17, 2025, armed bandits—often acting in concert with jihadist agendas—abducted 25 schoolgirls from Kebbi State. This follows a confirmed ISWAP execution of four Christians in Borno on November 11. These are not “clashes”; they are targeted operations consistent with the “later stages of genocide” as defined by experts.
Our Demands: In line with our mandate to pursue justice through national and international mechanisms, SNC respectfully requests:
The “enemies who rise against us” are organised and relentless. We ask that the international response be equally resolved.
Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees SAVE NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS
